M1917 helmet that was converted to an M1917A1 "Kelly" during a reconditioning process that first began in 1936, prior to McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co.'s new production line of M1917A1 helmets in 1941. The helmet's exterior features an original and very unique camouflage pattern consisting of white polka dots on a black base. The helmet's lot number has been partially concealed beneath its camouflage
