These were introduced in 1941 along with the Army's new two piece olive drab herringbone twill (HBT) fatigues, which replaced its blue denim predecessor. These were relatively short lived, being replaced by the more practical M1943 cap. Like the fatigues, it is also constructed of olive drab HBT. Unfortunately, this example's manufacturer's and size label has faded beyond legibility.
