The vents are angled to prevent water from entering the enclosure from above. The motor's shaft also turns a cooling fan to help pull air through the motor. For durability and long service life, the motor also features a steel frame.

Good Fit
I don’t expect this filter to last as long as the original filter but that’s okay because it is about half the cost. It looks well made. I didn’t see any flaws.
I chose this filter because it had some of the fewest complaints regarding the fit and it worked well for my ‘23 Subaru Forester. I may go back to an OEM filter next time but it’s nice to know that this one will work for me.
