During the evenings, he played country music in a trio that also consisted of guitarist Luther Perkins and bassist Marshall Grant. In late 1954 or early 1955, Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two went for an audition at Sun Records, and were signed. For Sun Records he recorded future classics, like Folsom
